At BackerElite, we aim to provide a transparent and fair refund policy for all users, including both backers and project creators.
For Project Backers
Because BackerElite serves as a platform connecting backers with independent creators, all transactions are considered final unless:
- The project you supported was canceled before reaching its funding goal.
- The project creator fails to deliver the promised rewards and is found to be in violation of our Terms of Use after an internal investigation.
- The project is found to be fraudulent or in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
We do not process automatic refunds unless the above conditions are met. In other cases, we recommend that you contact the project creator directly.
Please note that BackerElite does not guarantee refunds on behalf of creators.
For Project Creators
If you choose to issue refunds to your backers, you are solely responsible for handling the refund process, which includes:
- Processing payments through your own payment provider (e.g., PayPal, Stripe)
- Communicating with affected backers
- Updating your project page with relevant refund information, if applicable
Please note that voluntary refunds issued by creators do not impact BackerElite’s platform fees or transaction charges, which remain non-refundable.
Disputes
In the event of a dispute between a backer and a creator, BackerElite may, at its discretion, offer limited mediation. However, we do not guarantee a resolution or refund.
Our role is to maintain a safe and trustworthy environment for both parties. We are not responsible for reward fulfillment or compensation, unless required by law.
